Mixing Mediums, La La Land Stamp

I decided to try mixing my mediums with this image. I wanted it to have a very summery feel but wanted to have a very soft effect for the background so I pulled out my pastels. Everything else is colored up with my copics. I will list the color combos below- its a lot.  I will post it again after I have smacked it onto a card for some challenges. That will have to be later, this took forever !

(oops, I got a little crazy with my grass flicks by the guitar)

- That should be most of them.
I used 2 blue pastles, 3 shades of yellow, and a green just to edge the bottom part of the card.  I didnt want white edges but I didnt want to ink it either.

Here's the card.

I don't know why the sentiment is hard to read in the pic, it says "you are my sunshine". It's fussy cut from My Minds Eye paper. I covered it with glossy accents, I guess its reflecting the light. The tag is actually from my sons new pants- from the Vans Store, and I saved it. It came in handy. The hombre paper the image is mounted on is from American Crafts, Color Crush, and the birds are cut from another paper in the pad. The background paper I have had for so long I don't remember where it is from , it was just a single in my stash. I have a lot of those.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges :

Christmas card, Floppy

This image is called Floppy from Make It Crafty.  His outfit looked like so much fun to color up but I am disappointed with my results.  I have to try again but he is still cute and it took hours so I am going to use him anyway.  I colored him for a Creases and Folds challenge at Make it Colourful but I am not too confident about this one.  I think its time to get some better marker paper.  The problem is I am not sure what I am looking for it to do,  I know which ones everyone seems to favor but I don't know what it is about the papers that makes them better to be able to choose.  Does it need to be a heavier paper? Smoother ? My biggest complaint with my paper is that I can't build up my colors as much as I would like.  When my paper reaches its saturation point I can't add anymore color or it gets splotchy and shiny.  I am hoping I can find a paper that lets me  layer more so I can get more dimension out of my work.  I don't think the blending is much of a problem so I hope thats not the only bonus to the marker papers.

Can you see the kitty claw marks ? Naughty !!

Here he is on a card so I can enter him into some challenges.  He is colored with copics, the combinations I used are listed below.  The tree and tag are done with a Sizzix Die, the patterened paper is mostly My Minds Eye, the others I'm not sure of, they came from my scrap stash.  The stamped images are rubber stamps from SU.  Edged and stamped with Tea Stain Distress Ink, Martha Stewart glitter glue.

Blonde Xmas sprite

This is a digi from Make It Crafty called Pipi Petal Sprite.  I colored her mainly for their Blonde challenge but I am so happy with her I think I will put her on a card and enter her in a few others.  I colored her with plans for a Christmas card in mind.

She is colored with Copics. Here are the color combinations I used:

Here she is added to a card.

The snowflakes and tree are done with Sizzix dies, the little ones are Cuddlebug and cut from white card stock that I covered with glitter with my Scor tape. Bling from Michaels.  The stamp is a rubber mounted from Stampin Up and inked with Tea Stain distress ink. The glitter "snow" is Stampendous called Scintillement.  I got it last year during the holidays and it is my favorite!  Its a pack of 5 and they are all so pretty.

Boy birthday card CAS

Another fabulous image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Dragon Hugs.  I didn't want to do much with the card because I didn't want to take away from the stamp and really it didnt need much more than that.  With my house all packed I couldn't do much more anyway. <pout>

Dragon Hugs is colored with copics, color combos listed below.  Card Base is SU card stock, edged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Tea Stain.  Sentiment is a rubber stamp from SU.

Jules, Kit and Clowder July challenge

I love this image from Saturated Canary.  I've colored her many times since I've had it for a while but her hair is always a challenge for me.  I'm happier with it this time than I have been with others.  I've already entered several in Kit and Clowders July challenge  but I thought her dress was just too fitting for the clothing theme to not enter her.

I was going to use her on a birthday card but I ruined the kitty. Grrr!  I hate it when your almost done, hours later, and you mess it up !  Her hair and dress were very labor intensive <sigh>.
Copic color combos :

BV25 V25 BV11, 00, 000

Mo's Digital Pencil, Marion. First "real" attempt at fur

This is Marion from Mo's Digital Pencil.   I was coloring her for a challenge but didnt finish in time.  Oh well, maybe I will find another she will work for.  This is my first real attempt at fur. I usually prefer coloring people.  When I found this image I fell in love! I bought it right away ! - and got right to coloring. Then I came to the cat....uh oh! I hadn't considered that part !   The only animals I've really colored were a small part of the image so I could stumble my way through it.  Not this time.  I looked at a few tutorials but they weren't a huge help.  There are SO many on hair and skin and folds- there are some on fur but none that seemed to apply entirely to this image... No white showing- I don't agree....always color in the same direction...uh uh. One key piece of advice that helped, think of it as hair.  That was the biggest help and I found that on a forum on the Kit and Clowder.ning site.   Well I definently have some practicing to do but it's still cute. I will list the color combos I used but with the hair colors keep in mind, I was interrupted in the process and when I got back to it I couldn't get it to work out so I ended up using a lot of different colors to get it to look the way I wanted.  Actually it's still not right ! Grrrrr!

I decided to add this image to the Kit and Clowder July challenge

July challenge image, Witchy Wryn

This is Witchy Wryn from Tiddly Inks, I just had to have this stamp when I saw her. I think she turned out great ! I'm going to try her in a different color.  She's SO cute !

I added her to a card for the Tiddly Inks Challenge.  I had to keep it simple with everything being in boxes but I am actually happy with it the way it is.
I just had to color the kitty like one of mine. After all the theme is BFF and he is definently my BFF.
Main colors used :
E11 E00 E000 R20
E18 E15 E13 E11
RV69 RV65 RV63 RV00
I was very happy with the way her pleats turned out so I decided to enter her into the Clothing challenge for Kit and Clowder also.
My BFF inspiration for the kitty in the image above.  This is Griffin, F5 Savannah from Abambu Cattery.
