Winter Goddess, The Paper Shelter

I have finally created one of those cute box cards I keep seeing!  I've been admiring them for a while but they looked difficult and I was being chicken. I have to say it was not nearly as hard as I had thought.  The theme at the Graph'it Colouring Crazy Challenge Blog this week is Water or Ice and this image from The Paper Shelter was perfect.  It is called Winter Goddess.  Warning, picture heavy posting..

I had a hard time photographing this so there are a lot of photos but there is also a lot going on here.

The most difficult part honestly was trying to figure out how to add the embellishments without having gaps and having it look empty. I didn't want the inside inserts to show.

My designer papers are the card stock stickers I used are from Echo Park, the Winter Wishes collection.  I think it is from two years ago but I'm not sure.  I have been hoarding this one. My solids are from Stampin' Up.  The snowflakes are a combination of Cuddlebug and Sizzix dies.  I used my ScorTape technique to make them glitter.  This is very handy when you want the colors to match exactly, you aren't limited to what you can find in the stores.

I'm not a big sticker fan but if they are the card stock kind I mount them on a card stock background and fussy cut them to make a cute embellishment.  I used a light print DP for the message space on this card.

I thought I would include a picture of what it looks like when it is closed...

I had to search for the right tutorial for this because for most of them the measurements were too small for what I wanted.  You can find the video I used HERE.

I colored her using my Graph'it Markers and will list my color combos below.  Ok, one last photo so I can really show you the image.  I took a picture before adding the embellishments..

The Fairy Violetta and Her Vines, Beansie Doodle

There is a new challenge starting today at 613 Avenue Create.  The theme is Anything Goes with optional Bags, Tags, Boxes, and More.  So my project started as a tag but when I finished my girls said it would be a great ornament so now I'm not sure what I will use it for.  Originally I thought it would be a cute decoration to put on a cookie tin.  The sponsor I am working with is Beansie Doodle, you can find the Etsy shop HERE.  The image is called The Fairy Violetta and Her Vines, you can find it HERE.

The BG paper is from MME, the kraft base is from Neenah.  There is a lot of dies used here and they are from Cuddlebug, Sizzix, and Spellbinders.  To make the snowflakes I put large strips of Scor Tape on Shimmer card stock from Neenah and then rubbed Stampendous glitter into it before die cutting them.  The white ones didn't photo very well, they're actually super glittery.  The ribbon and flower centers are from my christmas stash.

I didn't have a christmas flower die so I just picked out one with the more pointy petals and layered them.  I think they are close enough.  Here is a close look at the image....

The Fairy Violetta and Her Vines from Beansie Doodle

I colored her using my Graph'it Markers.  After I did the outline I went back over it with my silver Shake pen but the glitter isn't showing up well in the photo.
Here are my color combos used:
skin: 4125, 4115, 4170, 3120/ 4145, 4135
hair and vines: 8240, 8260, 8270

Kissing Under the Mistletoe, Crafty Sentiments

Hello all my crafty friends!  I have a special Christmas card to share with you all today made using the most adorable stamp called Kissing Under the Mistletoe.  She is part of the Lollipop Dream- Its The Season Collection.  You can find her HERE.

I used designer papers from DCWV, the Four Seasons Stack.  The holly dies are a set from Spellbinders.  I fought with those dies all morning!  They are new and kept sticking and ripping.  I think what helps with these intricate dies is to leave the first cut stuck in the die.  If I left some paper  in them the other cuts would come out more easily.  The sentiment is a clear stamp from my stash as well as the ribbon.  The bling is Recollections.  Here are some more views of the card...

Here is a closer look at the stamp...

I colored her using my Graph'it Markers.  All those pleats on her dress were a blast to color!
Here are my color combos used:
skin: 4125, 4115, 4180, 3120/ 4135
hair: 3110, 3120, 3125, 3150, 3180
red: 5210, 5215, 5240, 5270
blue: 7109, 7110, 7115, 7119
boots: 3110, 3120, 3140
green: 8240, 8260, 8270
outline: 9100, 9101, blender
Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope you have enjoyed my holiday card ! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think,  I love hearing from you.

Start Your Journey by Put Your Thumb in the Air, The East Wind

The theme this week at Graph'it Markers Colouring Crazy Challenge Blog is Extra FX.  For my extra colouring effect I decided I wanted to make an ominous stormy looking sky to go along with this fabulous image from The East Wind called 'Lucy Loo' Start Your Journey by Put Your Thumb in the Air which you can find HERE.  I also added in a road and the ground beside it.

I made an easel card and I really like them but they are so hard to photograph.  The roses are made with a Spellbinders die.  The other flowers and brads are Recollections and the ribbon is American Crafts.  The leaves are a Cuddlebug die.  The corrugated kraft card stock is Recollections also but the other DP are from my scrap stash.  Here are some more views of the card..

Here is a closer look at the image before I added the embellishments...

Start Your Journey by Put Your Thumb in the Air

I did the sky with the cloud template I made with different sized circle punches.  The rest I just sketched in, you can't see the road really in this picture.  It is all done with my Graph'it Markers.  Her shirt is done with just one purple marker that I mixed with different shades of warm grey on the mix it sheet.  This is my first time trying this method and I definently need more practice but I love the options it provides. Here are the color combos I used:
skin: 4125, 4150, 4170, 3120/ 4145, 4135
hair: 1210, 1230, 1250, 3125
purple: 6140 mixed with 9402, 9404, 9407
green: 9201, 8110, 8120, 8280
boots: 3110, 3120, 3125
backpack: 9402, 9404, 9405, 9407
clouds: 9100, 9101, 9102, 6110, 9104
ground: 3210, 3245, 3250, blender
I used my silver Shake Pen in the sky and opaque white for the 'flowers' on the ground.

Hollybobs Skater, Polkadoodles

I have a fun card I want to share with all you crafty peeps today.  I used the Hollybobs Skater  from Polkadoodles.  She is available as a single digi, a clear stamp, or you can get her in the complete Festive Hollybobs collection  HERE.  Each and everyone of the characters in this collection are so so cute and there are so many fun elements to go with them and fabulous papers. My printer was acting up this week so I had to use some papers I already had on hand.  I will be making more projects in the following weeks with some of the other characters.

My papers are from MME, the trees are fussy cut from the same paper as the background peice.  The snowflakes are Martha Stewart punches and I use Neenah shimmer paper for them.  The "ribbon" is wired and from my stash and I love it.  It's thin enough to add a fun element without taking away from the rest of the project and I love that I can bend and form it. The bling and such is from my stash.  The sentiment is from Inky Impressions that I had printed for something else but it worked in a pinch.  The snowflakes around her are a MME clear stamp from the Winter Wonderland set.

Here is a closer look at the image before I added all the stamping and snow around her...

I colored her using my Graph'it Markers.

Color combos used:
skin: 4125, 4155, 4180, 3120/ 4135
hair: 2105, 3110, 3170, 3180
pink: 5125, 5160, 5150, 5180

Maybe from Ppinkydolls

Our next challenge begins today at Ppinkydolls Challenge Blog.  The theme for challenge #5 is Anything Goes or Halloween.  I love making halloween projects and have loads of stuff in my stash for them too.  I have used an image titled Maybe for this one, you can find her HERE.  This post just had to be photo heavy.  There is so much going on that it is really hard to see it all in the pictures but I tried.

I just love halloween crafts and I couldn't take it anymore! I just had to unpack some boxes!  As you can see I have a lot of spooky dies in my stash.  The skull and crossbones is a die and emboss set from Cuddlebug.  The cat, boo, tag, rolled flowers, pumpkins, and moon are all from Sizzix.  The leaves are a Martha Stewart punch.  The brads I picked up at Michaels, the ribbon is from American Crafts. The papers are from two different DCWV collections.

I tried to change the lighting a bit to better show the different layers.

The brad in the center of the flower on the tag I got online somewhere and can't remember where, I have had them forever.  That flower is Recollections.  The tag is much more visible when looking at the actual card.  Here is a closer look at the image...

Maybe from Ppinkydolls Art
I colored her with my Graph'it Markers.  She is done with blues but it looks a little more grey in the pictures.  Her necklace and things on her hat are deep purple but that doesn't show well either.  This card is so much cuter in person, I just couldn't get it to photograph well.  This is my daughters new favorite actually.  I don't usually send out my cards, I donate all my projects but this one I just might have to send.  There is a panel for writing on the back but I didn't think this post needed one more picture. LOL
Here are my color combos used:
skin: 4125, 4150, 4170, 3120/ 4135
hair: 1210, 1230, 1270, 3125
clothes: 7109, 7110, 7115, 7119
ground: 9201, 8110, 8120
cat: 9504, 9502, 9501
sky: 9506, 9505, 9504, 9502, 9501, 9500, silver Shake Pen

Did you make it to the end of this crazy long post?! I hope you enjoyed my busy halloween card/decoration.  It was so much fun to make.  I can't wait to get moved and unpack my craft room!  Then the real fun will begin!

Cat-r-Pillar, Eureka Stamps

It is the start of a new challenge today at Come and Get It Challenges.  Our theme this time is A Card For a Child and our sponsor is Eureka Stamps.  I have used an image called Cat-r-Pillar.  If it involves kitties you know I have got to have it! You can find it HERE.

I used Nina shimmer card stock for the base.  The string of christmas lights is a Stephanie Bernard Stamps of Life clear cling stamp from a few years back.  I colored it in with my Graph'it markers, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The tops of the ornaments on the right are from the same stamp set.  To make the ornaments, instead of stamping the ball, I used a 1" circle punch and then put score tape behind the punch outs.  Then I took a fine glitter and softly rubbed it onto the tape and shook off the excess. You can rub them and shake the card and the glitter doesn't move.  Its as good as using glitter card stock- better I think.  Then you simply adhere another piece of card stock to the back.  This adds such a fun element to the card and you can do it with all kinds of shapes.  I have used the same process for bubbles, snowflakes, and stars.

I can do a tutorial on the score tape process if anyone is interested, let me know if you are.

The DP is from a MME collection from last year.  The wired "ribbon" is from my stash and I LOVE it so I wish I could remember where I got it.  I love being able to bend and form it and it adds a little bit of fun to the project.  Here is a closer look at the stamp...

I colored it using my Graph'it Markers and silver, gold, and opaque white Shake Pens.  This post is so long so I wont list all the colors I used but if you have a question about them please leave me a message and I will get back to you.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.  Leave me some love below, it really makes my day!

Wisteria Sprite, Aurora Wings

We have a new challenge starting today at Creative Fingers Challenge Blog!  The theme is Anything Goes as always but the team was given the theme of Add a Charm.  We are sponsored this week by Aurora Wings and I am working with Wisteria Sprite for my project, you can find her HERE.

I made her into a 4 1/4" sq. easel card.  The BG paper is from a 6x6 MME paper pad and my solids are from SU.  The charm is for a necklace so it can be removed and worn later.  The rolled flowers are a Sizzix Bigz die and the leaves are a Cuddlebug die.  The "stopper" and the flat flower are little Sizzix dies.  The ribbon is from my overflowing ribbon stash box.  Here is a closer look at the image..

Wisteria Sprite from Aurora Wings
I colored her with my Graph'it Markers and I will list my color combos below.  The white "dots" on her head I did with my opaque white Shake Pen and then shadowed them with the silver Shake Pen. I added a little to her eyes too but it isnt photoing well.

Friends, The Winston Collection

Its time to share my creation for the Polkadoodle Digi Queens.  This time I used this sweet little bear from the Winston Collection, this image is called Friends.  I have been doing a lot of fall cards lately so I decided to mix it up a little bit this time.  The striped paper is from the Pretty Sweet CD and the sentiment is from Polkadoodles also.  It's from Dolly Daydream, the Girl Talk Collection which you can find HERE.  I love these sentiments, they go with anything and work with a standard circle punch.  It is so great the way you can mix and match from all the collections.

I used an Embossalicious embossing folder for the back mat.  The sentiment is punched with a 1 1/4" circle punch and matted on a 1 1/2" punch and then a scallop circle punch.  The flower is a Sizzix die and the brads and bling are from my stash.  The dark pink "paper" has been in my stash forever and I don't remember where it came from.  Here is a closer look at the image...

Friends, The Winston Collection by Polkadoodles
I colored her using my Graph'it Markers.  I used the stippling technique for her fur to give her some texture.  I am still practicing this...  This is my first attempt at those gorgeous clouds I keep seeing and this was a learning experience.  I am so sick right now and I did it backwards, I didn't mask over the ones I had already done- I went in the wrong direction I mean.  Ugh, I will have to try again when I am well.  I made the mask with different sized circle punches though and I like the way that part worked out at least.  - except that they are upside down, ha!  Here are my color combos used:
Fur: 4110, 3210, 3245, 3255
Light Pink- 5115, 5120, 5125
Dark Pink- 5125, 5160, 5180, 6160
Mushrooms- 3210, 3245, 4110, 4125
I flicked in the grass with, 8290, 8280, 8120, 8110
