Under the Mistletoe, Time 4 Tea

We have a new Colouring Crazy challenge going on today on the Graph'it blog!  Have you been thinking of trying out some new markers?  Why not try winning them?  Just sayin...

So our theme this week is Two Colors but the team was given a more specific instruction, we were to use blue and green.  So for the time of year I went with a christmas card using Under the Mistletoe, a Time 4 Tea stamp.  Even better, this stamp is on sale at Whimsy Stamps and you can find it HERE.

My papers and flowers are all from Whimsy Stamps.  The sleigh is a die cut called Santa's Sleigh, also from Whimsy and also on clearance woohoo!, you can find it HERE. And the charm also from Whimsy, you can find it HERE.  I have finally gotten my hands on frantage and can't help but to go a little nuts with it- and the Shaved Ice.  I love that stuff!  I used Martha Stewart glitter glue on the berries in Candy Apple.

The snowflake here on the inside is a large punch and the sentiment was a free gift with an order from Whimsy Stamps.  I embossed it with copper powder.

Here is a closer look at the stamp and my coloring...

Under the Mistletoe by Time 4 Tea

I tried a new color combo for her hair here and I love the contrast I got with these shades.  This is my absolute favorite green combo ever, however, Graph'it just came out with some new colors and one of them is a new light green so I am going to need to play some more!
Graph'it color combos used:
Skin: 4125, 4115, 4170, 3120/ 4145, 4135
Hair: 1210, 2105, 2120, 3130, 3150
Blue: 7110, 7115, 7119
Green: 8240, 8260, 8270

There are 6 brand new pastel colors, you can find them HERE or you can get them in a set of 12, the Characters Colours set.

Monochrome card, Sarah

Here is something Very different for me in several ways. For one thing it is my first attempt at monochrome but it is also my first try at those fancy cards with all of the gorgeous embellishments.  I think I probably took it a bit overboard but I'm learning.  The theme on the Graph'it Colouring Crazy Challenge blog that started last week is monochrome and I thought this was going to be very difficult for me.  I actually really enjoyed it and will definitely work with it again.

I used one of the new stamps from Whimsy Stamps called Sarah by Sylvia Zet.  This stamp was a new release for November and you can find it HERE.

The large snowflake and large flowers are die cuts from Sizzix.  I cut them out of chipboard and then painted them with TH crackle paint in Picket Fence.  I then painted over the snowflake again with Tattered Angels glitter paints but its not showing well in the photos.  The edges are inked in Walnut Stain distress ink.  The photos really don't do this card justice, it looks washed out.  I don't know why I couldn't get the lighting to work out.

All of the other elements are die cuts from Sizzix as well- the present is a Cuddlebug die.  The rolled flowers are cut out of corrugated card stock to give them more dimension.  The snowman is a Sizzix die but it is a Basic Grey die.  The flat back pearls,  ribbon, and tree are from my stash.  I finally got my hands on some frantage! woohoo!  I am in love!

My dp are an old collection from MME.  The sentiment and present are Heidi Swapp clear stamps.  Here is a closer look at the stamp, Sarah, before I added all the goodies.

Sarah by Sylvia Zet from Whimsy Stamps
I colored the image with my Graph'it Markers and will list my color combos below.  I did a little bit of fussy cutting and paper piecing.  Its not obvious but adds just a little bit of dimension.  I did add some pop dots at the end of her scarf to give it some extra lift.  This is stamped in Memento's Rich Cocoa.  I only used 5 different pens for the whole image- besides the skin tones, just in different variations.
Graph'it color combos used:
4110, 3210, 3245, 3250, 3290
skin: 4125, 4115, 4170, 3120/ 4145, 4135
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!  I hope you have enjoyed my overloaded monochrome card.  Leave me some blogger love below, I love to hear from you all.

Happy Birthday Betty!!!!

Today is Betty Roberts 40th Birthday!!! YES the BIG 40, so we thought we would make it as special as we possibly can!  The Awesome Rachel Sharp
drew us up an image to use for Betty's Birthday!!

A whole bunch of AMAZING, SUPER TALENTED ladies have done some UNBELIEVABLE projects for you to see, they have all been mailed out to Betty so she should get some AMAZING mail...
but we thought you would all like to see these FANTASTIC projects so we have put together a "little" hop with all our birthday projects.

This image was a blast to color up and to be a part of such a fun and wonderful surprise made it even better.  I loved that this was kept a secret from Betty all these months!

I made a sliding popup card for Betty.  It is so much cuter in person but since this is the first card I am actually sending to someone in a long long time I guess that is alright.

My background paper is Charcoal Glitter Paper from American Crafts and the skull is a Cuddlebug die.  The blue band is embossed with a Cuddlebug embossing folder that matched a Cricut cartridge I own- you can't see it very well. The ribbon and brad are from my stash.  The flower is a punch and I used glittered corrugated card stock for it.  My solids are from Stampin Up.

She is colored with my Graph'it markers.  I'm not listing my color combos but if anyone is interested I would be happy to add them- I just didn't want to make the post any longer.
I wish the embossing would show in the pictures.  The skulls have Glossy Accents on them and that isn't showing well either. poo!

Here are links to all the other fun cards made for Betty.  Be sure to hop around and check them out.  There are some really talented girls out there!

Corinne also has wonderful cards by Leanne, Cynthia Cole, April, Cat, Dena
Lizzy ( Yours Truly )

Thank you for hopping by my blog today! And Betty, I hope you have a truly wonderful day honey, HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!
xoxo Lizzy

Tula's Hearts Framed, Dilly Beans

I have a really fun card to share with all you crafty peeps today!  I have been working with a lot of holiday images lately and it felt really great to do something different.
This is my diamond fold card I made for my team project for Creative Fingers Challenge Blog.   The new challenge begins today and the team was given the theme of Banners for this one, it is of course Anything Goes for you guys.  Our Sponsor is Dilly Beans and I am working with an image called Tula's Hearts Framed, you can find it HERE.

My papers are from Heidi Swapp, the banners are fussy cut from the paper collection.  I think it is Sugar Chic.  I have had it for a while and I kind of horde it.  I only use it when it fits just perfect for the project because it was intended originally for a mini book for my daughter. haha Well, I don't think there is enough left for that now.

The charm and the ribbon are from American Crafts.  The sentiment is a digi from Create with TLC.  I colored it with my Graph'it markers and added Glossy Accents to the round part.

585- Tula's Heart's Framed by Dilly Beans
I colored the image using my Graph'it markers and I will list my color combos below.  I added Stickles to the hearts and a bit in her eyes and then Glossy Accents over the top of that after it dried.  That kind of thing never photos well and I think I lost a bit of my dimension in my coloring after it.  Maybe I should have left the shading more dramatic if I was going to glitter it? hmmm.
Graph'it color combos used:
skin: 4125, 4115, 4170, 3120/ 4145, 4135
hair: 5110, 5120, 5130, 5140
blue: 7220, 7240, 7250, 7260
yellow: 1140, 1150, 1230, 1280
pink shading: blender, 5110, 5120

Whimsy Stamps Blog Hop day 3

Welcome to the ...
Whimsy Stamps November release BLOG HOP!

The Whimsy Stamps DT and GDT have been sharing some amazing creations made with the new stamps and dies over the last couple of days, and today we are celebrating their release with a GRAND BLOG HOP!
The hop starts today (Wednesday November 5th at 12.00PM noon ET) and ends on Friday November 7th at 12.00pm noon ET. If you would like to hop along with us today, please CLICK HERE to start the hop at Louise's blog.

For today's project, I inked up this cute little stamp from Elisabeth Bell called Christmas Cookies.  I have also used a frame and sentiment from the Resolutions Sentiments set.

I thought this stamp is just perfect for a treat gift bag.  The card behind her on the front has the recipe for the treat and I used the tag on the back for my sentiment and left room for a written message on the other side.  I colored the stamp with my Graph'it markers and wet embossed the frame before stamping the sentiment in the center.  I am going to whip up a few more of these for teachers gifts this season.  I think it is so cute!

One lucky hopper will win a $25 gift certificate! To enter the draw, simply leave a comment at EVERY stop along the hop by 12.00pm noon on Friday November 7th.

Thanks so much for visiting today. Happy hopping!

For today's project, I inked up this adorable stamp from Crissy Armstrong called Christmas Reindeer.

My project is inspired by the advent calendar card but instead I have made it a countdown to christmas.  I have colored the stamp using my Graph'it markers. The numbers and snowflakes around them are wet embossed and I added some Glossy Accents to the stamped image as well.  The snowflakes are punches and the metal brads are from my christmas stash.  My designer card stock is from Bo Bunny and the solids are from Stampin' Up. I inked all the edges with TH Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap.

Hollybobs Presents, Polkadoodles

I have made a slider pop-up card for my Polkadoodles Digi Queens project for this week.  I used one of the characters and a sentiment from my favorite Polkadoodles collection, Work and Play Collection 5 Festive Hollybobs.  This is Hollybobs Presents.

This card pulls out to write a message or you can put your sentiment there and then it stands up like this...

The background paper is from Bo Bunny and is another of those that I have been hoarding for years. The present and the tree are Sizzix dies and the bling is from Recollections.  The ribbon and the holly embellishment are from my stash.
Here are a few more views of the card..

You can find Hollybobs Presents and the sentiment in the complete Festive Hollybobs Collection HERE or she can be purchased as a single digi that you can find HERE

I colored her with my Graph'it Markers.  Here are the color combos I used:
skin: 4125, 4115, 4155, 3120
hair: 1210, 1230, 1270
blue: 7109, 7110, 7115, 7119
green: 8240, 8260, 8270

Card with a box, A Day for Daisies

We have a new challenge beginning today at Come and Get It Challenges.  Our theme is Use Our Photo Inspiration this time.  I will post the photo we have for you below. The sponsor I am creating with is A Day for Daisies and I made a card with a box.  No I don't mean a card and a box, the card is a part of the "lid", the box slides out.  I am super happy with how it turned out but it was difficult to photograph. This image is called Wild Star Nymph.

My designer paper is from Bo Bunny.  It has been in my stash for several years.  It's one of those that I have been admiring every year but couldn't bring myself to cut into.   The snowflake and stars are dies from Cuddlebug and Sizzix.  The solid card stock is from Stampin Up.  The ribbon for the pull is from my stash.

She is colored with my Graph'it markers.  I used my silver glitter Shake pen on her wings, some of the stars, and in her eyes but it doesn't show well in the pics.  I added Glossy Accents to her eyes.
I think it needs an eyelet on the drawer for the ribbon to run through to give it a more finished look but mine are all packed up.  I will have to go buy some more, darn. My daughter's cheer team were assigned a secret sister for the next few months and I thought this would be cute to put a little treat and gift card in and leave it in her locker at school.

I was inspired by a video on YouTube but her finished project was a bit small for me.  I wanted to be able to put a Starbucks gift card in the box so I changed the measurements a bit.  So I will give you a link to the video that I used but I will also give you my measurements.  You can find the video HERE, but my measurements were: for the card/lid I used a peice that was 4" x 12", scored at 3", 4", 7", 8", and 11".  For the box it needs to be 4 7/8" x 5 7/8", scored at 1" on all sides.  All the scoring measurements remained the same.  I used Scor Tape for my adhesive so we can really pack in some goodies.

To join our challenge at Come and Get It you can create any kind of project you would like.  Just be sure to use the photo for your inspiration.  Here is the photo we have for you ...

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope you enjoyed my little project.  I think it will make a nice surprise for a cheerleaders locker, don't you?

I would like to enter this project into the following challenges:
The Sisters of Craft- November ATG
Catch the Bug- November ATG
Delicious Doodles- Baby its cold outside
