Hi crafters!! I am loving rainbows lately and have been experimenting with different ways to incorporate them into my card designs. This digi stamp from The Greeting Farm called Good Luck Anya was not only great for a March card but also screams for a rainbow to go with her.
You can find Good Luck Anya in the shop HERE.
My sentiment is from that adorable clear set, Magical Friends.
I created my background with Distress Inks on watercolor paper. I colored up Anya with my Prismacolor pencils. Here are the combos I used:
skin: dark brown, terra cotta, burnt ochre, sienna brown, clay rose, peach, light peach, eggshell, white, blush pink
hair: dark brown, tuscan red, terra cotta, burnt ochre, pumpkin orange, goldenrod, sand
green: kelp green, olive green, apple green, spring green, pale sage, white
purple: black grape, dioxazine purple, dark purple, lilac, greyed lavender, white
white: cool grey 70%, 30%, 10%, white
black: black, warm grey 90%, 70%, 30%, 10%, white
The idea for my rainbow came from a video I watched by Jennifer McGuire, you can see that video HERE. I used different products than Jennifer did but the concept is the same. I have the dies I used listed and linked at the bottom of this post. To give the cloud die cuts more dimension, I cut them out several times and layered them up.
I had so much fun designing and building this card. Thank you for stopping by today to take a peek!
I'd like to enter this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, Take a Leap Into the Unknown: new rainbow technique
